This study highlights an important artistic aspect of Gibran Khalil Gibran poetry, which is the phenomenon of deviation, that was employed by the poet in his different poems, taking advantages of the textual thresholds that it gives, and thus to open the text horizons in front of the reader. The study required the following of descriptive analytical method to approach the phenomenon of deviation in the poetry of Kahlil Gibran, so the study came in an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion:
The introduction examines the concept of deviation from its linguistic and terminological definitions, its different levels, and the deviation in the poetic discourse.
The first chapter, deviation in phonetic level; focused in syllables, phonetic characteristics of sounds, and then studied the issue of rhythm in the poetry of Gibran.
The second chapter, deviation in semantic level; studied through its relationship with simile, metaphor, and allegory.
The third chapter, deviation in syntagmatic level; was approached through submission and delay, citation and deletion, definition and non-definition.
At the conclusion, we showed the work done in the study, and the main results through the different chapters.
