The aimed of current study was to explore levles of career beliefs and
job satisfaction, examining the differences in career beliefs and job
satisfaction levels according to the academic qualification, counsellors'
displians, and work place, and to identify the degree of contribution of
the career beliefs in the job satisfaction levels of religious female
counselors employed in Ministiry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the
Sultanate of Oman.. The avaliable 168 female religious counselors were
involved in the study through direct contact with the director of the
Women's Counseling Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious
Affairs (17% of the study population). The Career Beliefs Inventory (CBI)
developed by Krumboltz (Krumboltz, 1994) and the Job Satisfaction
Scale prepared by (Al-Ajmi, 2017) instruments were used and after
confirming their validity and reliability. The results indicated that there
were mid levels of career beliefs and high levels of job satisfaction for
the study sample. Also, the results indicated that there were no
statistically significant differences at the level ≤ 0.05 in the career beliefs
regarding the variables of counsellors' displians and the place of work,
while there were statistically significant differences in career beliefs at the
level of ≤ 0.05 with regard to the educational qualification variable in
favor of postgraduate counselors. Also, there were no statistically
significant differences at the level of ≤ 0.05 in the job satisfaction in light
of the academic qualification, counsellors' displians' , and workplace
variables. The results also revealed that career beliefs contribute to
predicting of 12% of the job satisfaction variance with a statistically
significant degree in only the dimension of "career confidence". The study
also came out with some recommendations and suggestions according
to the results that were obtained.
