The study aimed to identify the challenges facing the development of aquatics in the Sultanate of Oman, and to reveal the differences between the viewpoints of the research sample members. To achieve these objectives, the researcher adopted the descriptive approach due to its suitability for this type of study, as data was collected using a questionnaire tool, which was applied to (183) (administrators, coaches, referees, board members, and swimming players).

The study reached a set of results, the most prominent of which was the lack of interest from institutions and civil sectors supporting aquatics, the lack of a base of juniors in clubs affiliated with aquatics, and the lack of a special system for professionalism in aquatics in the Sultanate of Oman.

The researcher made several recommendations, most notably the importance of developing the technical level of trainers by increasing the number of training courses and tests periodically, and seeking the help of experts and consultants specialized in aquatics to ensure achieving global achievements in the future, and seeking to increase financial incentives for champions to maintain their levels and raise the level of the game, and working on legal legislation for professionalism in individual sports as it will open up broad horizons for Omani players.
