The study aimed at identifying the attitudes of university youth towards participation in civil society institutions, revealing the challenges that limit their participation in these institutions, identifying possible differences between the attitudes of these youth depending on the variables of gender, age group, governorate and College, in addition to identifying the difference in the challenges that limit their participation in civil society institutions depending on the study variables represented by gender, age group, governorate and college . This study belongs to the descriptive analytical studies and adopted the social survey methodology by sample using the questionnaire as a tool for data collection, and the study sample consisted of undergraduate students at Sultan Qaboos University across its nine colleges, who were enrolled in the spring 2023 semester. The total number of students was (13,139), and the sample was selected using stratified random sampling, and due to the variation in the numbers of students in different colleges, the proportional distribution was used in the selection of partial samples from colleges to be proportional to their weight relative to the total the minimum sample size was set at (310) students. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which was that the participation of university youth in civil society institutions contributes to the formation of various social relationships, which achieves psychological empowerment, and the development of their leadership and social skills, and the results showed that the colleges where University Youth Study have a role in enhancing their participation in civil society institutions, and the study highlighted a set of challenges that limit the participation of university youth in civil society institutions, manifested in the weakness of the media campaigns known to these institutions, the weak link between participation in them and employment opportunities for university youth, and the absence of a difference in their appreciation of the challenges that limit their participation in civil society institutions, and the lack of a difference in the degree of appreciation of the challenges that limit their participation in civil society institutions, and the lack of These institutions depending on the variants of study. The study came up with a set of proposals such as the importance of rooting the developmental concept of civil society institutions, especially among university youth, and the need for higher education institutions to prepare plans to instill a culture of volunteerism and rooting the developmental concept of voluntary work, especially among university youth; to encourage them to participate in civil society institutions effectively
