The study aims at addressing the syntax of the verbal sentence in Al-Stali's poetry. The study examines the subject in two different ways: syntactically, where we study the different forms of the verbal sentence and, semantically, where we look at the various semantic aspects of the different forms of the sentence structure. The study is organized into three chapters preceded by a short biography of Al-Stali and his poetry. The first chapter is theoretical, whereas the other two chapters are practical as the follows: - Chapter I: entitles the verbal sentence, its meaning and its elements. This chapter includes two sections: The first section discusses the concept of the verbal sentence as addressed by grammarians, rhetoricians and philosophers. The second section discusses the elements of the sentence and raises issues related to the subject and subject of the predicate. - Chapter II: deals with the structure of the verbal sentence in Al-Stali's poetry. This chapter is divided into three sections. The first section deals with the primary composition of the verbal sentence, the second with the different semantic patterns of the sentence and the last one with lengthening the verbal sentence in Al-Stali's poetry. - Chapter III: deals with the symptoms of verbal sentence construction and is divided into six sections. The first section deals with the deletion symptom where we studied its most prominent connotations. The second section deals with advancement and delay and its most noticeable connotations in Al-Stali's poetry. The third section deals with the addition and its most prominent connotations. The fourth section discusses the replacement and its connotations, while in the fifth section we discuss compatibility and its implications. The last section deals with opposition and its implications. The study finalizes with a summary of the most important results from the study.
