Directed metal-catalyzed C-H Bond functionalization is an attractive topic in synthetic chemistry. This methodology can provide an efficient way for the construction of a new C-C bond selectively with no pre-functionalized reagents or intermediates. Therefore, it is environmentally benign, and it can minimize the cost of synthesis. In these projects new and novel amides acting as monodentate and bidentate directing groups have been successfully synthesized and characterized by 1H, and 13C NMR Spectroscopy, GC-MS spectrometry, IR-Spectroscopy, and Elemental Analysis. Furthermore, those directing groups were investigated in C-H bond functionalization with different transition metals and electrophiles. Moreover, since Ru is a cheap and common metal used in metalcatalyzed C-H bond f functionalization., a study on the ligand effect on Ru-catalyzed CH bond arylation of amide of 8-aminoqunolin was conducted. The study shows the most effective ligands are tri-aryl-mono-phosphine of 145o cone angle tri-cyclohexylphosphine. ligand of di-phosphine, amines, and carboxylic acid did not deliver the C-H functionalization product.
