The study aimed at figuring out the expressions of women's image shown in social studies textbooks in fifth to tenth grades. In order to answer the questions of this study, the researcher has prepared a list of expressions about women's image which must be made available in those textbooks .The list was prepared after reviewing a number of previous studies and researches which focused on women's image. The researcher then showed the list to a number of raises to express their views. The final image was concluded which included (69) expressions divided into seven categories which are: social, educational, health, economic, political, cultural and media and security and safety. In the light of this list, the researcher conducted an analysis for the content of social study books for fifth to tenth classes in order to calculate the expressed and implied expressions of the women's image stated in such content. The researcher adopted the concept of analysis unity. For the purpose of verifying the validity, the researcher sought the assistance of another researcher to analyze an identical sample for all books; in addition the researcher analyzed the same sample. The ratio of conformity between the two researcher was in the region of (75%) and (90.9%). The study reached certain findings, most important of which are as under: 1- A list of expressions of women's image which must be included in the social study books for fifth to tenth classes 2- The distribution of these expressions were not equally distributed in the books of the six classes as the repetition of the expressions of the women's image in the book of the fifth class occurred 55 times, 19 times for the sixth class, 26 times for the seventh class, 8 times for the eighth class, 49 times for the ninth class and 8 times for the tenth class. 3- Maximum attention was only focused on the following pillars: social, health, educational, political and economic. While the pillars of safety and security and cultural and media were not accorded the appropriate amount of concern as to the total of repetitions and inclusion in all books. In the light of all such findings, the study concluded a number of recommendations and proposals regarding the subject in question.
