This study sheds light on the global technological developments. It focuses on an important part of social communication and its impact on the social and ethical values. It examines the social and ethical values of the students at Sultan Qaboos University. This study is divided into three chapters as follows: The first chapter studies the emergence of the scientific and technological revolution and its development and status in the Islamic World. It also discusses the emergence of social media, its development, types, characteristics, services, and the practices of its users and its legality controls. The second chapter discuss the use of social media in the Omani society, and the status of values inside it, in addition to highlighting the impact of these means on the doctrine, social and moral values. The third chapter is devoted to the field study. The researcher uses a questionnaire to collect data, using a random sample of 250 Students. The study concludes with important results, most importantly: The most recent statistics related to the use of social media platforms reveals the increasing number of users of these sites in Omani society. The means of the responses of Sultan Qaboos University students regarding the impact of social media on values ranges between (2.48-4.14). The means of student's responses on the impact of social media in ethical values ranged between (2.11 -4,10). The university students believe that the means of communication play an important role in teaching the habits of other people and it increase their ability of express issues, developments and feeling as well. However, they also play a vital role in increasing the spread of rumors. According to their viewpoint, communication tools do not play a role in increasing unemployment rates in the country, but the other way around. The students believe that those tools encourage people to be extravagant. They also encourage women to wear more makeup and use adornments. Those tools neither help in teaching their users a sophisticated way of talk, nor help them to make a constructive dialogue. The study discovers that the users don't find a good role model through those tools.
