English abstract
The aim of this study was to identify the correlation between internet addiction and the methods of parental treatment, and to identify the average of hours that spent by 11th grade students in the governorate of Al.Dakhliya in the use of the Internet daily, and to identify the differences in parental treatment methods that are attributed to the variable gender (males and females). In order to achieve the objective of the study, the descriptive approach was followed in presenting the data and the analytical approach in analyzing the results of the study. The study was conducted on all 11th grade students in the schools of the governorate of the Al.Dakhliya. The study sample consisted of (631) male and female students, (314) male students and 317 female students from different states of the governorate The researcher used the Internet Addiction Scale for Ahmed (2007) and the Scale of Parental Treatment Methods for Jibril (1989). The study reached to several results, the most important of which were: The level of addiction of the Internet came a little in general among the sample of the study. Parental treatment methods which adopted by parents with their children affect significantly in the extent of their addiction in the use of the Internet or not. The methods of parental treatment which followed by parents in the study sample was a little and this indicates that methods of parental treatment reduce the behavior of addiction of the Internet in a little. The level of addiction in the sample of the study was little, which reduces the amount of social communication in the environment which they belong to.
