English abstract
Delinquency is an old phenomena from which human societies have suffered. It has contributed in the change and development witnessed by the Omani society, particularly in terms of the variation in the numbers of delinquents. Thus, studying delinquency and its relationship with correction establishments in Oman is of high significance, The current study aimed at identifying the degree to which delinquents knew about regulations and procedures that should be followed before they get discharged. It also aimed at uncovering the nature of rehabilitation programs offered by delinquency affairs department and the degree to which those programs are relevant to the needs of clients in terms of: age, nationality, educational level, place of residence, type of crime committed, age at program entry, sentence duration, and recurrences of program entry. In addition, the study aimed at understanding the levels of satisfaction among delinquents towards delinquents affairs department and the challenges facing the 1 department from the point of view of the study sample.
The study used a descriptive analytical research design as a basis for data analyses. A questionnaire was designed to collect data from 36 delinquents admitted to the department of delinquent affairs in Muscat. The most important findings were:. - Clients comprehended the rules and regulations of rehabilitation programs - As viewed by the sample, the department was keen to include delinquents in its diverse rehabilitation programs, stemming from the belief that rehabilitation programs reduced levels of reengagement in crimes and the negative factors leading to deviation.

- The department relied on specialized professionals as a foundation for the success of rehabilitation process, each assigned duties that align with their specialty.
