English abstract
This study aimed to identify university students' attitudes towards religious talk programs in the Omani media. The study sample consisted of (727) students from Sultan Qaboos University. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach. The study used a scale of trends, where the scale consists of three areas: the emotional, cognitive and behavioral domain (prepared by the researcher), The study showed that (44.8%) of sample prefer not to listen to certain programs of all religious talk shows offered by the official media. The study showed that (38.5%) prefer to listen to certain programs of all religious talk shows offered by official media, The average of respondents has, in general, high tendencies to religious talk shows in the Omani government media (radio and TV) with a percentage of (71.14%), and the ratio was very close among males (% 71.23) and females (71.09%), Averages of respondents in the dimension of figures, who manage religious talk shows and do their performance in the Omani media, are considered to be within the average level, as averages have reached (3.31), and up to (66.24%), Respondents' trends to the subjects addressed by the religious talk shows and Media of Oman reached a high level for all members of the sample as it got the percentage of (71.72%), Respondents' attitudes towards the ways of presenting religious talk shows in the Omani media, reached a high level with a percentage (73.14%), There are statistically significant differences at the level of less than (0.05) between the averages of the respondents in the cognitive domain depending on the levels of gender variable in favor of females, No statistically significant differences at the level less than (0.05) between the averages of the respondents in the scale of university students' trends to religious talk shows in the governmental Omani media according to the levels of these variables: (specialty, marital status, and place of residence), Religious programs in the official Omani media receives audience satisfaction, where more than half of the respondents up to (61.5%), explained that they have no proposals to develop them, and the percentage of respondents who have suggestions for the development of religious programs in the Omani official media has reached(38.5%).
