English abstract
This study aimed to identify mechanisms to activate the practices of school headmasters in developing a culture of dialogue among students in the Sultanate of Oman based on the opinions of education experts and submit a proposal of mechanisms to activate the practices of school headmasters in developing a culture of dialogue among students in the Sultanate of Oman, The study used a descriptive methodology; to present the theoretical view on the culture of dialogue in general and the practices of school headmasters in developing a culture of dialogue among students in particular. A questionnaire is designed to cover six main areas which represented the mechanisms of activating the practices of school headmasters in developing a culture of dialogue among students: (school planning, school communication, decision-making, supervision of teaching and learning, the management of school activities, and strengthening the relationship between parents and community organizations). The (Delphi) method was used with a group of (51) experts from the Sultanate of Oman, these were educational experts who obtained a doctorate in education and specialized in educational management, the curricula and methods of teaching, psychology, philosophy, and experts holding a Ph.D. in human resources management, management and development, together with school administrators who have got an MA in educational management, as well as educational experts from Arabic countries holding a Doctorare in educational administration, and experts interested in the field of dialogue.
The study used frequency tables to calculate the percentage of each paragraph of the tool, and used (SPSS) to calculate the Means, Standard Deviations, and Inter Quartile Range. The results were analyzed for each area of the different areas, and each paragraph of the area.
The findings classified the most important of the six areas according to the educational experts as follows: the area of school planning got on average account (2.87), followed by the area of strengthening the relationship between parents and the community organizations received an average of 2.82), then the area of school communication got on average of (2.81), followed by the supervision of teaching and learning which got an average of (2.80), as well as decision-making area which got an average of (2, 80), and finally the focus of the management of school activities got an average of (2,77).
According to the analysis of the six areas in focus on the topic of the culture of dialogue and practices of school administrators in developing the culture of dialogue among students, the study offered a suggested proposal for the mechanisms to activate the practices of school headmasters in developing a culture of dialogue among students in the Sultanate of Oman.
