English abstract
The objectives of the study at hand were to determine: the difficulties faced by the first domain teachers teaching social studies to pupils with learning disabilities in the Sultanate of Oman, and the effect of teachers' specialization, qualifications and experience. To achieve these objectives, the researcher reviewed the relevant literature and developed a questionnaire composed of 74 items divided into (6) dimension sample of the study consisted of (363) female teachers teaching 1-4 graders in (93) Basic Education schools in the Sultanate of Oman. To answer the questions of the study, the researcher used means, SD's, Rank, T-test, one-way ANOVA test. The main findings of the study: 1- The most common difficulties of teaching social studies to pupils with learning difficulties covered 5 areas of the questionnaire in the following descending order; school textbooks, students, teachers, parents, and classroom environment. 2- The T-test and ANOVA analysis revealed no statistically significant effects due to teachers' specialization, qualifications and experience. According to the results, a number of recommendations were introduced.
