English abstract
This study aims at evaluating Islamic books for grades (1-4). Cycle one of BE in Oman in the light of Islamic values appropriate for students. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher had studied some studies, scientific researches and some educational matters which are related to the Islamic values and the characteristics of the Islamic up bringing and growing of the students in cycle one. On the bases of these sources, the researcher put a list of the Islamic values that should be implied in the books of Islam in cycle one. After that the researcher showed the list to a group of experts and specialist in the field of manners and methods of teaching. Then the researcher transformed the list content analysis considering the sentence as a unit for analysis. The researcher saught support from another analysist who analyzed a sample of the Islamic Education Textbooks for the same grades in order to check the reliability of the analysis. There were (27) lessons, (28%) of the overall lessons which numbers (275) lessons. The agreement was (89%).
The main findings of the study:
• A list of (88) Islamic values in the field of monotheism and worship, (27), individuality (20) and life (41).
The values of belief in Allah, prayers, contemplating in the universe, the love and obedience of Allah and faith in Doomsday were mostly presented in the first field with (17.2%-7.1%). The caring about appearances, good manners, the kindness were presented in the second field, (12.2%10.2%). Seeking the useful science, coopreration, and mercy
were presented in the third field, (23.5%-8.6%). A number of recommendations were suggested in the light of these findings. The most important is to take care of Islamic books for grades (1-4) cycle one in order to have a good Islamic Character.
