English abstract
The current study aimed to identify the type of relationship between psychological alienation and health among the male and female expatriate teachers in Muscat governorate and its relation with some variables like sex, social status and type of school. The study sample consisted of 281 teachers. The researcher used the descriptive approach. For the purposes of the study, the psychological alienation by Al-Dhabaa, 2004 and the psychological health scales by Ahmed Abdul-Khalek, 2011 were used.
The study results showed that the level of psychological alienation sample on the dimensions of psychological alienation scale was within the low level. The results also showed that the sample members had a high level of psychological health. There is a strong correlation between the dimensions of the psychological alienation and health scales among the male expatriate teachers in the Sultanate of Oman. There is also a strong correlation between the dimensions of the psychological alienation and health scales among the female expatriate teachers in the Sultanate of Oman.
There were no statistical differences on the psychological alienation scale in respondents' responses in sex and social status variables, as well as to the variable of school type with exception of non-standard dimension. It was clear that the differences were in private schools. The results also showed that there were no statistical differences on the psychological health scale in the respondents' responses in variables of sex, psychological status and type of school. The results were explained and some recommendations and proposals were suggested.
