English abstract
This study aimed to investigate the correlation between the family environment and the self-efficacy of eleventh grade students in the private schools in Muscat governorate. The research based on the descriptive correlation method. The sample of the study was 344 male and female students that were currently studying in different 11 private schools from three different states of Muscat governorate. The researcher used family environment scale and self-efficacy scale.
The findings of this study showed that the family environment of eleventh grade students is a positive healthy environment that's overwhelmed with humanity, love and care. The study showed high level of self-efficacy among eleventh grade students and they are independent and capable of taking their own decisions. Moreover, the study showed the correlation between the family environment and student's self-efficacy that overall the healthy family environment increases the level of self-efficacy in the children. The findings exhibit no significant differences between genders or the various educational status of the parents among all levels of self-efficacy and family environment.
