English abstract
This thesis is intended to study the themes and the dimensions of the early Palestinian resistance in Abdul-Rahim Mahmoud's poetry through artistic and objective lenses, tracking the trails of his life, as a brave solider and a valiant fighter. Guided by his strong conviction, he served his motherland with his verses and laid down his life too for it in sacrifice for the mission of liberty while standing lofty against the occupiers of his motherland.
The study strives to reveal Abdul-Rahim Mahmoud's status as a pioneering figure of the Palestinian resistance literature through the very first generation of resistance using the genre of poetry.
The study is based on a descriptive analytical methodology. It comprises of the preface, the introduction, two detailed chapters, and a conclusion.
The preface deals with the term of "resistance literature", the history of its emergence, and its main characteristics. It also surveys Abdul Rahim's life through different stages, from birth to death through his artistic intellectual struggle and physical participation.
Chapter one covers an objective study that indicates the most important dimensions in his poetry. These dimensions have been divided into three sections: personal dimension, national dimension, and nationalistic dimension.
Chapter two covers the artistic study focusing on the structure, meters, rhythms and rhymes of his poetry and highlights the style, language, and melody, used by Abdul-Rahim Mahmoud.
