English abstract
The aim of this research is to study the obstacles which hinder achieving cooperation between family of pupils and school and also to know the role to be carried out by the social service officer in order to strengthen relationship between these two parties, moreover to find out a shape or form of proposal to be used to increase the efficiency of social service officer role to restrain cooperation's obstacles among school and pupil's family.
The researcher in this study is adopting positivism study by using two types of social survey, com prehensive and by kind. The study covered all Basic Education Schools of cycle two that have social service officer located at Muscat Governorate. The number of schools come to Tox School distributed all over six states of governorate (Bosher, A'seeb, Al - amerat, Quriyat, Mattrah and Muscat) therefore the community of the study was to I social service officer and to x school principal plus sample of pupil's parent/guardian come to a number of 90 x pupil's parent/guardian, The study depend on designing of two questionnaire form one for social service officer and one for pupil's parent/guardian plus guidebook for interviewing. principals of schools. The most important study results are as follows:
1. Social service officer is in favour of pupil's parent/guardian at the time when pupil's facing problems.
Y Provision of school's requirements for those pupils whom their families unable to provide the items for them in order to increase the volume of cooperation between the school and the pupil's family.
T. Calling in the pupil's parent/guardian to discuss with them the problems of their children which resulting on facing the problems in effectiveness manner.
4. It is proved by study results that most obstacles which preventing achievement in cooperation between school and pupil's family are permanent criticism that directed by school for pupil's parent/guardian in connection with bringing up/raising of their children. Also the huge tasks assigned to social service officer are preventing him to play his vital role in effective manner furthermore the lower educational and economical level of pupil's parent/guardian make them most of time busy with their own work, away from their children and have no time to follow up their problems or to interconnect with the school.
The study is able to produce a proposal helping in increasing efficiency of social service officer role to put an end to obstacles of cooperation between school and pupil's family and also to motivate pupil's parent/guardian to cooperate with the social service officer in various matters related to their children the pupils.
