English abstract
This study aimed to propose a strategy for the application of entrepreneurship education in post-basic schools in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of the reality of its requirements.
The researcher used two instruments. First a questionnaire aimed at identifies the reality of entrepreneurship education requirements. This questionnaire was distributed among principals in post-basic schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The second instrument was Delphi method that was implemented among (20) experts to build the strategy of the application of entrepreneurship, education in post-basic schools in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of the reality of its requirements.
The questionnaire sample consisted of (77) post-basic school principals from all educational governorates in the Sultanate. The study found that the sample responses regarding the practices of entrepreneurship education in the category of the internal environment of post-basic schools to be of medium degree in the theme of the skills of preparing students to become entrepreneurs, the theme of curriculum, teaching methods, programs and extra-curricular activities, and the theme of materialistic resources.
On the other hand, the theme of the culture of entrepreneurship among school administration was ranked high. Moreover, the sample responses regarding the practices of entrepreneurship education in the category of the external environment of post-basic schools was found to be of low degree.
The study ended with building a strategy for implementing entrepreneurship education in post-basic schools in the Sultanate of Oman based on the findings of the questionnaire and The Delphi method with a recommendation of implementing this strategy by the Ministry of Education and other educational institutions.
