English abstract
The purpose of this study aimed at to investigate the methods used by principals of post-primary schools in the north of Batinah in the Sultanate of Oman, to manage and deal with organizational conflict in their schools and to investigate the impact of experience and type in the level of competency in the management of these conflicts .To achieve the objectives of this study, Researcher prepared a questionnaire by drawing on the previous studies and literature. Researcher distributed the questionnaire to (60) principals of post-primary schools in the north of Batinah, in the Sultanate of Oman,. The sample of the current study consisted of (49) male and female principals, They were selected randomly from the study group. The sample of the current study was distributed as follows (28) principals from male and (21) principals from female. The final form of the questionnaire consisted of (38) clauses.
Statistical processing, the integration of averages, standard deviations and test (v) were used to answer the questions of the study.
The following are some of the main findings of the study:
1) The technique of cooperation is the most commonly used in the management of organizational conflict in the post-primary schools in the north of Batinah, in the Sultanate of Oman.
2) The averages of organizational conflict management techniques used by principals of post-primary schools in the north of Batinah, in the Sultanate of Oman from the most commonly used to the least commonly used are as follows:
Cooperation then settlement then domination, then courtesy and finally avoidance.
3) The absence of statistically significant differences due to the
variable type.
4) The existence of statistically significant differences attributable to the variable experience in favor of the principals with (1-5) years experience in the exercise of avoidance strategy.
