English abstract
The study aimed at knowing the standard of vocational maturity and its relation to the parents' guidance for Tenth Grade Basic Education Students for a specimen of 392 boys and girls students; 223 boys and 169 girls.
To achieve the goal of the study, the Adapted Arabic version of Craits' measure, developed by Grawn ( 1986) was used. From the researcher's design, a survey was done for parents' directions. Evidences that both tools are Valid and Reliable was verified.
For answering the questions of the study, Arithmetic means and standard deviations were calculated to specify the vocational maturity and parents' directions. Person's correlation coefficient was used to know the correlation between vocational maturity and parents' directions. The researcher used (T) test to know the indications of differences in vocational maturity according to the two variables of social type and monthly income of the family. Analysis of Variance was used to know differences in vocational maturity according to the educational level of parents.
The findings showed that vocational maturity level of the specimen was medium, and the same is true also for parents' directions. There was a positive relation between vocational maturity and parents' directions.
The study also showed that there are statistical Significant differences for vocational maturity ascribed to social type variable for the side of girls, and for the monthly income of the family for families with higher income. No statistical Significant differences appeared for vocational maturity according to the two variables of the Educational level of fathers and TM mothers.
The findings were explained within the frames of theories and previous studies. A number of recommendations and suggestions for following studies were set.
