English abstract
This study aimed to identify the utilization of the technological
advancements in the educational supervisionas Perceived by Educational supervisors at the Directorate General of Education of
the South Batinah in the Sultanate of Oman. The study sample consisted of 70 supervisors at the General Directorate for Education of the South Batinah.
To answer the study questions, the research developed a questionnaire that consisted of 90 items. The reliability of the
questionnaire was 0,91
The major results of the study indicated the following:
1. Based on gender, experience, department and qualifications, no statistical significant differences were found (at the level of a= 0,05) between the views of supervisors in utilizing
technological advancements in supervision.
2. Computers are used by the educational supervisors to communicate with teachers and other services like the
Internet and E-mail.
3. One of the most critical difficulties in utilizing the technology is
the slowness of the Internet.
Finally, based on the results of this study, several
recommendations were suggested:
1. The need for training programs for the educational supervisors
about the utilization of the technological advancements in their
field such as interactive board, video conferences and all the
internet services and audio-visual dialogues.
2. Establishing a well-equipped technology educational center.
3. The technological advancements such as laptops, smart boards and video conferencing should be provided for educational supervision.
