English abstract
The current study aims to determine the relationship between overall degree job rotation and the level of administrative competence among the principals of basic education schools in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiyah in the Sultanate of Oman. To collect data and achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive correlative approach and conducted a questionnaire with 97 male and female principals.
The findings of the study showed that the overall degree of job rotation practiced in the basic education schools in the governorates of Al-Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiyah was significant. A further novel finding is that training, capacity development, job development, systems and procedures were significant as well. While our results demonstrated that there were no noteworthy differences in the significance level ≥ α) (05.0 between the mean estimates of the study sample, which can be attributed to the variables: gender, qualifications, experience, there were statistically significant differences in the level (0.05≥α) which was attributed to the governorate variable in favor of North Al Sharqiyah governorate.
Another promising finding was that basic education school principals' level of administrative competencies in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiyah were generally high. From the results, it is clear that the principals' administrative competence, technical aptitude and technological capability were quite high. Extensive results carried out show that, while there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05≥α) due to the gender variable in the proficiency dimension. there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05≥α) in the sample responses of the study attributed to the variables: governorate, years of experience, and qualification in administrative efficiency to the dimensions of technical aptitude and technological capability.
From this standpoint, the results of the study reveal the existence of a positive correlation and a statistical function between all dimensions of job rotation and administrative efficiency among the study sample. In light of the results of the study, a set of recommendations were presented, the most important of which are: working to enhance the level of administrative competence related to the technical field of school principals and framing the job rotation process for school principals in Oman at the central level.
