English abstract
This study aimed in general to measure the level of vocational guidance counselors in AL Dakhelia Region, Sultanate of Oman in
problems solving of vocational guidance and specially, developing their skills to solve student's problems in specialization and vocational challenge peremptory. In addition, this study aimed to design a training material to qualify vocational guidance counselor.
The researcher applied Problems-Solving Measurement Skills on study society consisted of (162) Vocational Guidance Counselor and has used "One Group Empirically Method". The Mean calculated for criterion on least marks of society members to select the sample group, which will be trained.
The group consisted of (20) Vocational Guidance Counselors, (10) of male and (10) Female trained on the training program conducted in 14 training sessions contains solving-problems skills and physical activities and theory activities.
The researcher designed this program based on scientific model called
D'zurilla & Goldfred ". This model contains five skills of Solving-
Problems and it has been used to change the behaviors and taking
decisions. The researcher adds another skill called "Motivation" the
sixth skill to enhance the works of Vocational Guidance.
By using "ANCOVA, T-Test and Willcsoon Test" to identify
Statistical indication between trained group members .The researcher
used " Mann - Whitney U Test" to conform the indication level between (Males and Females). The results also indicated that there
were no differences in the indication statistical to study society in the (Gender, Expertise Years, Degree). the hypotheses result was in favor of Meta-Analyses after applying the program and continuing of
skills constancy after completing month of Meta-Analyses.
The researcher found the trained group has been improved and
become familiar with the six skills. This proved that these members
have been developed after conducting the program.
The study recommends that those concerned with the counseling
benefit from its results to improve the counseling process. it further calls for more investigations in the Sultanate of Oman of for
developing problem solving skills within vocational guidance counselor.
