English abstract
The Present study aimed to reveal the relationship of explanatory flexibility with learned helplessness and academic achievement motivation, and possibility of predict the learned helplessness through explanatory flexibility, and the researcher used the descriptive relational approach.the sample of study consisted of (407) students Including (216) males and (191) females, were selected by cluster method from Muscat governorate schools, and the researcher has built a scale of explanatory style and scale of learned helplessness, and used a scale of academic achievement motivation prepared by (almasharfi, 2012). the data was statistically processed using (spss) program, and the study declared that The study sample showed explanatory rigidity, where the explanatory flexibility average was (0.7239).and There are statistically significant differences in the level of explanatory flexibility among students due to the gender variable (male – female) in favor of females. The study revealed that 3.9%) of the study sample showed a high and very high level of learned helplessness, and (18.4%) a medium learned helplessness and There are no statistically significant differences in the level of learned helplessness among students due to the gender variable (male- female).and revealed that there is a positive medium correlation relationship with a correlation coefficient of (0.367) and a significance level at (0.00) between the degree of explanatory flexibility and learned helplessness and there is a weak inverse (negative) correlation with a correlation coefficient of (0.127) and a significance level of (0.011) between explanatory flexibility and academic achievement motivation and detected that Learned helplessness can be predicted through explanatory flexibility and with a significance level of (0.000).
