English abstract
This study aims at identifying the specific standards used to selecting
Islamic jurisprudence topics in Islamic Education Textbook of the Post basic education Stage through answering the following questions:
1.What are the Standards that should be taken into account when choosing
the topics of Islamic jurisprudence in the content of Islamic education
textbooks for students of post-basic education in the Sultanate of Oman?
2.How do you describe the availability of standards used to selecting
Islamic jurisprudence topics in the content of the Islamic education
textbook for post-basic education students in the Sultanate of Oman?
3.Does the availability of these standards differ according to the different
fields of these standards?
To answer these questions, the researcher applied the descriptive analytical
approach due its relevance to the intended study and its objectives. The
researcher also prepared a card including 48 standards derived from
standards list to analyze the content. The authenticity of the tool was
confirmed through submitting it to a group of 34 arbitrators. In addition,
the validation of the analysis was approved using agreement factor between
the researcher and another analyst through Cooper formula, the agreement
percentage reaches 92%. In brief, the study resulted the following:
1. 18 standards approved the availability by percentage of (1-9.3%)
however, 22 standards could not reach 1%. Meanwhile, the lessons lack
the availability of standards related to (sports, electronic games,
electronic security, modern art, preserving the environment, tourism,
contemporary issues related to worship and women provision).
2. The educational and technical standards ranked first among the fields of
standards with a percentage of (93%), followed by growth requirement
field (5.4%) and by society features (1.15%) and finally by modern
jurisprudence issues with (0.47%)
In the light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended the
necessity of applying clear and specific standards in selecting the content
of Islamic education textbooks by curriculum developers. Also, Islamic
education textbooks has to be reconsidered by preparing solid planning
including modern jurisprudence issues and a list of jurisprudence issues
appropriate to each education stage.
