English abstract
The study provides an analysis of Omani foreign trade as a detailed geographical
study through an analysis of three main dimensions: the spatial dimension of foreign trade
represented by import and export countries and the multiplicity of customs ports. The
historical dimension of analyzing the conditions experienced by Omani foreign trade during
the years 1970 to 2020. The accompanying period changes in the economic, political and
social levels. The economic dimension representing the economic addition of Omani foreign
trade and the change in the value of exports and imports during this period. The period
starting from the exchange rate of the Omani currency where it was in The Saidi Riyal until
it was calculated in Omani Riyals after 1974 and divided non-oil goods according to the
International Classification of Trade as preceded by the study in providing an analysis of
non-oil goods according to the classification of the HS ( Harmonized System) , which was
not used in the analysis of foreign trade according to studies seen by the researcher either
Arab or foreign studies. The study provided an analysis of the factors affecting foreign trade
Omani, which influenced her during the study period. Statistical data were also treated and
analyzed based on the global indicators used to measure the efficiency of Oman's foreign
trade. Its openness to world trade, and to find the relationship between Omani foreign trade
and some geographical dimensions such as the level of urbanization, population number and
divisions, the relationship between it and the price of oil and the contribution of foreign
trade to national income and per capita income in Oman. The results of this study helped to
recognize and understand the factors affecting positively and negatively in Omani foreign
trade. In addition, its importance and role Prominent in the future of the Omani economy
and vision 2040, as shown by the prominent role in which foreign trade affects internally on
Omani society and externally on political and economic relations between them and other
countries, the researcher hopes that the guidance of decision makers to take care of its
prominent role in the national economy, diversify sources of income and bring more foreign
investment to achieve the national strategic vision Oman 2040
