English abstract
The automated study aimed to identify the relationship of cognitive motivation with the level of academic ambition and to reveal the level of cognitive motivation and academic ambition among eleventh grade students in North Sharqiyah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman and to find differences in the level of cognitive motivation and academic ambition according to gender and specialization among the members of the study sample.
The study was conducted on a randomly selected sample consisting of (391) eleventh grade students in schools in North Sharqiyah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman, who are enrolled in government schools during the academic year 2022/2023, aged between 16 and 17 years.
The researcher used in this study two scales: the cognitive motivation scale and the academic ambition level scale, where the researcher prepared them herself after reviewing the theoretical literature and previous studies related to cognitive motivation and academic ambition.
The results of the study showed the following: the existence of a positive relationship between cognitive motivation and academic ambition, and that the level of cognitive motivation and academic ambition was high among the members of the basic sample, and there were statistically significant differences in the level of cognitive motivation according to the variable of sex and specialization, while there are no such differences in the level of ambition according to specialization, but they exist in the level of ambition according to gender.
