English abstract
Currently, the higher education in the Sultanate of Oman is witnessing a vital stage of development and a qualitative shift in various aspects in line with the latest scientific trends in higher education, particularly in the field of university leadership. The strategic dimensions of the Oman Vision 2040 highlight the importance of education as a cornerstone of sustainable development at its various social and economic levels "Universities are currently pursuing sustainable development and creating a leadership pattern that meets current and future requirements that contribute strongly and effectively in evolving progress and developing the educational process, research and community. Based on that, the study aimed to identify the conceptual framework for sustainable leadership and its objectives, principles and dimensions, as well as the objective of the implementation requirements of the sustainable leadership in universities, taking into consideration the most important challenges. The study applied the desk analytical descriptive curriculum that relied on the desktop content analysis of data and information in reference to the pedagogical literature from previous references and studies to access and process information that helps to resolve the issue profoundly and provide solutions and suggestions to it. The results of the study concluded to put in place a proposal to develop the academic leadership at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in line with the sustainable leadership requirements and Oman Vision 2040.
