English abstract
The study aimed to know the level of post-primary education students in the
Sultanate of Oman with coexistence and its repercussions, and to achieve the objectives of
the study, the researcher employed the descriptive curriculum; by collecting data using an
electronic questionnaire consisting of three tools: the cognitive test consists of 32 questions
distributed over 5 axes, and the trend scale consists of 30 paragraphs distributed over 6 axes.
The results showed good levels of among post-basic education students’ awareness
of coexistence and its repercussions, as the attitude scale was high compared to the
knowledge and behavioural attitudes, which was at a good level, The study also found that
there were statistically significant differences in knowledge and general average in favor of
females, while there were no statistically significant differences in behavioural attitudes and
tendencies. The study also found that there were statistically significant differences in the
knowledge, attitudes and expected behavioural attitudes of among post-basic education
students towards coexistence according to the state variable at the level of significance
(0.05) was found to be in favor of students in the Wilayat of Bowsher and Muttrah.
The study recommended working to intensify the amount of knowledge to enhance
students’ knowledge of coexistence and the mechanisms for achieving it by employing all
sources of knowledge, developing mechanisms to enhance students’ awareness of all forms
of coexistence and their repercussions to build a generation aware of all these forms.
Based on what was achieved in this study, the researcher proposes to conduct studies
on the level of university students’ awareness of the concept of coexistence and study the
differences according to the variables of type, specialization and geographical region, and a
study on the role of teachers in promoting the concept of coexistence among students at
various educational levels.
