English abstract
The study aimed to uncover the relationship between quality of professional quality
of life and psychological resilience among a sample of public-school principals in
certain governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. It also aimed to investigate the
differences in quality of professional quality of life and psychological resilience
among the study sample according to demographic variables (gender, years of
experience, governorate), and the possibility of predicting quality of work life
through psychological resilience. The study sample consisted of 241 principals from
the governorates of Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, and South Al Batinah.
To achieve the goals of the study, the Professional Quality of Life Scale developed
by Al-Bardan (2022) and the Brief Resilience Scale translated by Al-Sharbeeni
(2021) were used. The validity and reliability of the scales and their psychometric
properties were confirmed.
Results showed high levels of professional quality of life and psychological
resilience among school principals, and no statistically significant differences in
professional quality of life and its dimensions and psychological resilience according
to the gender variable. The study also showed that professional quality of life can be
predicted through psychological resilience. The study concluded with a set of
recommendations and suggestions based on the results obtained.
