English abstract
The study aimed to assess the creative leadership characteristics among
school principals in the Sultanate of Oman, to identify the level of job
satisfaction of senior teachers in basic education schools, explore the
relationship between creative leadership characteristics and job satisfaction.
The study also aimed to determine the effect of the variables: gender, years of
experience and educational governorate, the researcher adopted a descriptive
methodology, and a questionnaire was used to collect data. The questionnaire
consisted of (26) items distributed across two dimensions, the first dimension:
creative leadership with its four dimensions: agility, flexibility, authenticity,
and problem sensitivity, the second dimension is job satisfaction in its four
dimensions: the nature of the work, the relation with the school principal and
colleagues at the school, salary incentives and increments, and selfactualization. The study sample included senior teachers in basic education
schools in the Sultanate of Oman in the following Omani governorates:
Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, North Al Batinah, and the current study
consisted of (330) responses from senior teachers.
The study’s findings indicated that there is a significant relationship
between the practice of creative leadership and the job satisfaction of school
principals in the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of senior teachers.
The results of the study showed that there are no statistically significant

differences at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05), based on variables such as
gender, years of experience, and educational governorate. Based on these
results, the study proposed recommendations to enhance the relationship
between principles ‘creative leadership characteristics and job satisfaction in
basic education schools.
