English abstract
This study aims to construct a guidance collective and proposed program to help parents on how to deal with their gifted children, and this proposed guidance program was constructed based on the theoretical literature which was written in this area, with the addition to previous studies aimed to address the studies related to the talent and attributes and problems of gifted children, as well as studies of the family environment and the social skills of gifted children. And also studies of the school environment and the school community for the gifted. The proposed guidance program consisted of (12) Guidance sessions, and the proposed period of each session ranging from (60 to 90) minutes. The purpose of the first session was to introduce oneself between the instructor and members of the group, to build trust,reduce resistance, form familiarity between them, and to identify the concept of collective guidance and the guidance Program, which will be applied to them, while the second session was aimed to identify to the members of the group the concept of talent and their role in the early recognition of talent, The third session was aimed to the role of the family in the care of its gifted child as well as to recognize the ideal family for this child. The fourth session was aimed at the family relationship with the school in addition to the role of the school in the care of the gifted child. The sessions of the fifth until the eleventh was aimed at identifying the key issues in dealing with gifted children, and some of these issues are, acceptance, low self-concept, the low academic achievement, conflict resolution, listening to them, and involving them in decision-making, the extreme sensitivity and emotional intensity, and the luxury trend of gifted children The twelfth and the final session was aimed to review the most important points which were covered throughout the guidance program, and to plan how to support the members of the guidance group for each other and maintain their progress after the end of the program. The researcher has proposed many indicative methods to use in this proposed guidance program and they are: giving instructions, and dialogue and discussion, role-playing, reinforcement, feedback, instruction and training, homework, and program evaluation. For the purpose of helping in applying these indicative methods, the researcher suggested using the following tools: blackboard pens, wall-chalkboard, and painting put, display device (projectors, Proxima), cards, questionnaire, transparencies, A4, and training modules. At the end, the researchers hope to be benefit from the program and its methods by social workers and counselors, and those interested in educational institutions (schools of basic education in the Sultanate of Oman), and that up to assist parents in how to deal with their gifted children, as the researcher also recommends conducting a pilot study to investigate the effectiveness of this program in assisting parents in how to deal with gifted children.
