English abstract
This thesis studied the method of responding to the adversaries in Ibadi thought, by taking a treatise of Yaghla bin Ziltaf in responding to all adveraries in Islamic thought as a model. The thesis consists of three chapters. It dealt firstly with the method of responding to the adversaries in Islamic thought based on three books classified in the first fourth century, namely. Ahmed Ibn Hanbal response to the Jahmia and the Zanadiqa, Muhammad Ibn Aflah al-Rustami's reply to the denunciators the creation of the Holy Quran, and al-Malti's response to the heretics. The chapter ended with a brief introduction of Yaghla Ibn Ziltaf. The second chapter discussed the theological issues addressed by Sheikh Yaghla in his book, mainly the holy names and attributes, the walayah and braah and the issues of ability and will. I focused on the approach addressed by the Sheikh the arguments supporting Yaghla's view. The third chapter dealt with the sects mentioned in Yaghla's book, especily the Mu'tazila, the Murjiah and the Sufriyyah. This thesis ended with series of results. The most prominent of these was the statement of the scientific methodology of the studied books, which had no counterpart in the field during period. The Sheikh's authorship of this letter was in the last quarter of the fourth century AH, during his stay in Egypt. I pointed out the great similarity between the book of Abu Hazar and al-Bisyawi's al-Jaami. The similarity of the two books may be explained by the intellectual background, as there is no recorded meeting between them in available source.
