English abstract
The goal of this study is set a suggested strategy to activate role of school management in sustainable professional development for teachers in the Sultanate of Oman and to achieve the goal of the study, the reality of the role of the school administration been studied then designing a questionnaire consisting of 63 paragraphs distributed on 4 interlocutors (the strength points, the weakness points, the opportunities, and the threats) applied on a group of experts in the educational field ,100 employees representing: The Human Resource Development department in the ministry and in Dakhilia governorate and the schools administrations in Dakhilia governorate.
The results Show the most prominent strength points are: the support of the school administration for the efforts of the senior teachers who are active in achieving the professional development, its support in activating teaching technologies in it, and using the school facilities in meeting its demands.As for the weakness points are clear in: there is no training specialist at schools, the heavy loads of work on the employees of the school, and the lack of the rewards and incentives for the active teachers.The most prominent opportunities as the experts responses are: establishing the specialist Centre, using the internet and the social networks, increasing the local and international care to the importance of the sustainable professional developmentAs for the most prominent threats: the delay of the promotions and its relation to the teachers' psychological stability, the escape of the distinguished and creative teachers of the sustainable professional, the lack of supporting the communication networks for the schools and the weakness of the services provided.
