English abstract
The study aimed to identify the difficulties of using active learning strategies from the point of view of mathematics teachers in Al Batinah South Governorate، Sultanate of Oman. For this purpose، the researcher prepared a questionnaire for the study that included (38) items distributed to (5) domains، applied to a sample، consisting of (212) male and female teachers of mathematics in the prep and cycle two schools in the Governorate South Of Al Batinah The results of the study revealed that the domains of difficulties appeared in large extent، in terms of the difficulties of using active learning strategies from the point of view of mathematics teachers in the Governorate South of Al Batinah got a general mathematic average of (3.68).
The first difficulties are those related to the learning environment، followed by the second difficulties related to the administrative aspects، the third ranked difficulties are related to the students، the fourth rank of the difficulties are related to the nature of the curriculum and the last rank are the difficulties that are related to the teacher. The study also found that there were no statistically significant differences between teachers 'estimates about the difficulties of using active learning strategies in teaching mathematics from their point of view attributed to the gender variable in all areas of difficulty.
It was also found that there are statistically significant differences in the difficulties that relates to the nature of the curriculum due to the variable of experience in favor of those with 5-10 years of experience.
Also، there are statistically significant differences in the difficulties related to the administrative aspects due to the variable of training courses for those who did not receive training courses.
In light of this، the researcher recommends the need to encourage teachers financially and morally and to involve them in the training courses adopted by the specialized institutes، and to create the school climate and reduce the quorum for teaching lessons for the teachers، as well as providing a guide for them that contains all active learning strategies، how to apply them and the activities associated with them.
