English abstract
The study tackles the Challenges Social Workers Encounter. It covers the social workers who conduct social surveys and studies at the Ministry of Social Development (MOSD) in Oman. This study is not carried out to be accumulated to the quantity of academic studies. It is expected that the study's results and recommendations would contribute to develop the current mechanisms in the social research field at MOSD. The study aims at highlighting the personal data and attributes of the social workers in the field of research and the data's correlation to the challenges encountered. It reveals the statistical difference among social workers in identifying the kind of challenges they face based on years of experience, qualification, and gender. The study sheds light upon the workers' suggestions and ideas to enhance and develop the performance of work. The study uses the descriptive method as a basis to analyze data. Within ageographic context, the regional Departments and Directorate Generals that fall under the supervision of MOSD are identified.The study adopts the comprehensive social survey methodology to cover the target group it studies. As for data collection, the researcher used social worker- oriented questionnaires highlighting the worker's professional specialization; practitioner social worker, researcher in the social field, or data collector as these three categorizations contribute in various ways in carrying out social research at MOSD. The study has come out with a number of results, like:
-It has shown that the majority of social workers in the field of research are males (80%). It has emphasized that the administrative constraints are the most challenging as this factor's relative strength reached 73%. 3- It has shown existing statistical difference between the workers' years of experience and their ability in identifying and measuring administrative constraints. 4- It has shown existing statistical difference between the workers' years of experience and their ability in measuring rehabilitation challenges. 5- It has shown existing statistical difference in the worker's sex versus the worker's ability in estimating and identifying environmental challenges.
