English abstract
The study aims to develop the distance teachers training in Al
Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman in light of ADDIE
Model. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach
was adopted by using mixed methods design which is a combination of
the quantitative design with the qualitative design. The study tool in the
quantitative design consisted of a questionnaire containing 53
statements distributed into two themes. The first theme contains the five
domains of ADDIE Model, namely: analysis, design, development,
implementation, and evaluation of the process of distance training, while
the second theme represents the obstacles to implementation of
distance training.
The study sample consisted of 369 individuals representing
teachers, senior teachers, educational supervisors and training
specialists in Al Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman.
The second tool of qualitative design was an interview consisted of six
questions representing the study themes and conducted with a sample
of 6 school principals. The study findings were as follows :
- The values given by the study sample individuals were highly in
agreement with the reality of distance teachers training in Al
ADDIE training model.
و
- There were statistically significant differences at the level of (α =
0.05) between values given by the respondents in all domains
attributed to the gender variable and in favor of the females. The
statistically significant differences were in favor of the those
holding bachelor's degree . For the job title variable, the findings
came in favor of the teachers in two domains; the fourth:
implementation of distance training programs, and the fifth
domain: evaluation of distance training programs which. However,
regarding the work experience, they came in favor of those having
work experience of 12 years or less, in all domains except the
third domain: developing distance training programs.
- The results of the (interview) with school principals showed that
there was a lack of a real activation of distance teachers training
in the Al Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman in
light of ADDIE Model.
- The two study tools, questionnaire and interview, agreed on the
existence of constraints hindering distance teachers training in Al Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman.
Considering the analysed relevant educational literature and the
findings of the field study, a distance teacher training program has been
developed for teaches in Al Batinah North Governorate, Sultanate of
Oman in light of ADDIE Training Model. Besides, the study presents
some proposed actions which contribute to developing the distance
teachers training, most notably, the preparation and design of teacher
training programs in the Al Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate
of Oman in light of recent trends and scientific models.
