English abstract
The study aims to determine the prevalence of behavioral and emotional problems among Kindergarten children from their teachers' point of view. It also aims to investigate the effect of some variables (the child's educational level, the teacher's years of experience, teacher's qualification, child's age, child's birth order in his family, the mother's educational level, the father's educational level, the mother's profession, the father's profession, and the presence of a housemaid) on the prevalence of the problems in the governorate of North Batinah in the Sultanate of Oman. The sample consists of (518) children (boys and girls) distributed at (132) schools in the governorate of North Batinah. The study applies the descriptive approach, and the scale of behavioral and emotional problems among children by Jalal Jarrar and others (2017). The methods were distributed to the sample after verifying their validity and stability. The results show that the prevalence of behavioral and emotional problems accounted for (2.3%) of the study sample. This study presents the prevalence of behavioral and emotional problems, and the most common ones among the children of Kindergarten from their teachers' point of views according to the dimensions of the scale. The results show the order of the dimensions as follow: (1.Hyperactivity, 2 learning problems, 3.anxiety and depression, 4.Psychological problems). In some dimensions, the effect of the variables on the spreading of the problems vary. In light of the results, the study defines a set of recommendations and suggestions.
