English abstract
This study aimed at investigating the acquisition of life skills involved in the curriculum of Life Skills among grade ten pupils in the Sultanate of Oman. . To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher designed a scale consisted of three components which are : the cognitive, the emotional and the behavioral components divided into five main areas namely (personal and social skills, health and safety, citizenship and globalization, labour world and house culture ). These are the key areas that found the curriculums of the school subject "Life Skills" in the Sultanate of Oman .After checking the validity and reliability of the study instrument, it was applied to the study sample consisting of (883) male and female pupils from different schools in the governorate of Muscat, Dakhiliya and Sharqiya-North The study's results showed that the percentage of the acquisition of life skills involved in the curriculum of Life Skills among grade ten pupils in the Sultanate of Oman was high and reached (73,26%). The study also showed statistic differences at the level of (a= 0.05) due to the variable of gender (male/female) in favor of female. The researcher recommended the need to work to raise the level of students in the cognitive component of the life skills curriculum for the five it's of component reconsidering upgrading teachers, curriculum content, assessment methods, and means of material life skills.
