English abstract
The present study aimed to evaluate the Arabic textbook of the sixth grade in the light of the involvement standards of the book to the student.
The study attempted to answer the following two questions:
1. What are the involvement standards, which should exist in the Arabic textbook
of the sixth grade? 2. To what extent these standards exist in the Arabic textbook of the sixth grade?
To answer the first question:
The researcher prepared a list of involvement standards, which was
tted to a jury of specialists. After modifying the list in the light of the jury's views, the list was put in the form of a content analysis card for the targeted textbook. The card contains three main dimensions with 25 involvement standards, The reliability coefficient was high (92%). To answer the second question:
The researcher analyzed the whole targeted textbook in its two parts in the light of the content analysis card mentioned above. The result revealed the existence of: - Technical production standards with a percentage of (85,8%), and it had the
first rank. - The activities standards with a percentage of (40,6%), and it had the second
rank. . The standards of the textbook content with a percentage of (38,42%), and it had the third rank.
The study also presented a number of recommendations; the most important of which are defining the involvement standards of school textbooks in general and the Arabic textbooks specifically.
Also, making use of the standards list that had been obtained by the present study by considering it when developing the targeted textbook.
The study made some suggestions for further research; one of which is conducting a study to improve the content of Arabic textbooks on the level of all stages in the light of the involvement standards,
In addition, conducting studies that specify the involvement in the textbooks using (Romey's Formula).
