English abstract
The present study aimed to uncover the reality of intellectual suggestibility
among students of post-basic education in the South Al Batinah Governorate, It
also sought to identify the characteristics of students who have the ability
intellectual suggestibility, and to know the reasons that increase students'
intellectual suggestibility, and to know the relationship between intellectual
suggestibility and social media, it also determines the effects on students of
intellectual suggestibility, And reached a number of proposals to resist
intellectual suggestibility, the social survey method was used in the sample. The
study community included all students in post-basic schools for grades (11-12),
in the schools of the Al-Batinah South Governorate. The number of them (230)
male and female students, where they were chosen in a non-probability
(intentional) way, and the study used the questionnaire tool prepared by the
researcher.
The study reached the following main results:
- That there are characteristics that characterize students that make them
vulnerable to intellectual suggestibility, and "behavioral characteristics" came
first, followed by order: (cognitive characteristics, psychological characteristics,
and social characteristics).
- The subjective and environmental factors of the students are common to the
cause of their occurrence in the problem of intellectual suggestibility, and the
results of the study showed that the subjective reasons are more influencing the
students.
- The results showed that there is a positive and statistically significant
correlation at the level of significance (0,01) between the dimensions of the axis
of the characteristics of students who have intellectual suggestibility (cognitive
characteristics, social characteristics, psychological characteristics, behavioral
characteristics), and the dimensions of the social media axis.
- The results of the study showed that the problem of intellectual suggestibility
affected the student negatively, such as shortcomings in the religious aspect, low
achievement level, and psychological effects on the student, and with regard to
the effects on his relationship with his family, friends and society.
- The results of the study reached a set of proposals that contribute to resisting
intellectual suggestibility.
