Creative students are the human wealth that nations must discover and invest in. Creating an innovative generation is what educators aspire to. There is no doubt that the school environment directly affects students positively, making them creative students, or negatively, making them ordinary students. Reality shows that there are obstacles that limit child creativity in school environment. Therefore, Social work must face these obstacles.
The study aims at identifying the obstacles of creativity of the Omani child in the school environment, as well as identifying the role of social work in schools in facing them.
The study is based on a descriptive approach that uses social survey; (3) experts from ministry of Education, and social survey on a sample of 100 teachers (Male and Female), and 9 social workers (Male and Female) in government schools from grade 5 to 7 in Wilayat AL Seeb. The researcher used research tools; the questionnaire and the interview.
The most important results of the study that the majority of teachers did not receive any training courses on creativity, and that the most significant obstacles are related to the curriculum, which include that the objectives of the curriculum focuses on the development of creative capabilities
Followed by obstacles related to educational supervision, such as the lack of training courses for teachers periodically, and the obstacles that are concerned with students (students are interested in memorizing the information)
And the constraints of the school environment (the big number of students in the classroom), and finally the obstacles related to the teacher. The results also show that there is no clear and precise description of the role of the social worker to deal with classes of creative students.
There is also a correlation between the years of experience as an independent variable and the acquisition of training courses as a dependent variable. There was a strong positive correlation between the two variables. Finally, the results show a mutual effect between all dimensions of the Omani child's creativity in the school environment.
Considering the results of the study, the researcher develops a proposal of the role of school social work in dealing with the obstacles that limit the creativity of the Omani child.
