English abstract
This study is aimed at revealing the role of electronic meetings in the development of the administrative communication skills between the school administrations and the general directorates of education in the Sultanate of Oman. The study followed the descriptive method and adopted the questionnaire data collection tool. The questionnaire was distributed among a stratified sample composed of (39%) of the study community that contains (608) educational leaders in the directorate generals of education in Al-Wusta, Al-Dhahira and Al-Dakhiliah Governorates, and the school administrations that belong to them.
The study revealed: . A high degree of appreciation for the role of electronic meetings in developing
administrative communication skills between the school administrations and the general directorates of education in the Sultanate of Oman. The first three axes ranked in order (the axis of the skill of speaking and presentation, the axis of listening skill, the axis of the skill of interaction / participation), got a high degree of appreciation, while the axis of "dialogue skill / persuasion" got a lower degree of appreciation with an average grading.
There were no statistically significant differences at the level of (a<0.05) in the study sample on the role of electronic meetings in developing the administrative communication skills between the school administrations and the general directorates of education in the Sultanate of Oman due to the following variables: gender, administrative level, years of administrative experience, scientific qualification, the courses attended in the field of technology and place of work
(governorate). The main recommendations of the study are: Firstly, adopting and activating the electronic meetings' system as a communication program between the educational directorates and the school administrations affiliated with them. Secondly, creating special sections for electronic meetings at the directorate generals of education and appointing specialists to manage those systems as well as appointing a specialist in each school for the purpose to provide the necessary technical support for dealing with all the obstacles or problems that face the application of electronic meetings. Finally, conducting intensive training sessions on the mechanism of electronic meetings for all beneficiaries of the school administrations and educational directorates.
