English abstract
This study aimed to determire the degree at which mathematics teachers use computers as a teaching method in teaching the material and the obstacles of using it from their point of view and supervisors in the South Batinah Governorate. It relied on the analytical descriptive approach. The sample consisted of (213) teachers and (16) supervisors. The study consisted of (38) elements divided into two categories; (23) elements focused on how extensive mathematics teachers used computers and (15) focused on the obstacles faced when using the computer. The samples were ratified to ensure robustness before being adopted as a basis for the study.
The results of the study revealed that the extent of usage as well as the teachers' assessment of the obstacles were average; i.e. neither the usage was high or low, nor the impact of the obstacles to the usage.
When it comes to the extent of computers use, the study also showed statistically significant differences that males have the higher use irrespective of their position or grade. However, when it comes to the level of obstacles, the results demonstrated that females faced higher obstacles than males with no difference to grade or position.
In light of these results, the researcher recommended the need to provide computer software suitable for the curriculum of sports and included in the curriculum and training teachers on how to use and properly applied and supervised by a competent technician, in addition to the preparation of infrastructure suitable for government schools before the computer in the process of education.
