English abstract
This Study aimed to develop and standardize a scale for Homework Management for grades 7-11 students in the Sultanate of Oman. The sample of the study consisted of (1100) students (550 males and 550 females), who were selected using multi-stage clustered random sampling from Albatinah South region. The scale consisted of (68) items representing eight dimensions (managing time, motivation, controlling emotions, attention concentration, school environment, study, subjects, the family, organizing study environment). Psychometric properties of the Scale were determined.
The approach that was followed in this study was a descriptive one using appropriate statistical methods to answer the research's questions like Cronbach alpha, Pearson correlation coefficient, exploratory factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA and percentile ranks.
The validity of the Scale was ascertained using three methods:
Face validity, Concurrent validity and Factorial validity. The results indicated acceptable validity. The reliability of the scale was measured using Cronbach alpha and the test re-test method. Cronbach alpha for the Scale scores was found to be (0.89). Also, the test re-test reliability coefficient was found to be (0.70). Finally, the norms for sample of the study were derived by using percentile ranks.
The results were discussed in the light of the theoretical frame work and previous studies. Also a number of recommendations and suggestions were presented.
