English abstract
The study aims at identifying the degree of practicing duties related to organizational development at the Directorates of Education in the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of general directors, directors of the educational directorates, their deputies, heads of departments and administrative advisors and whether there are significant statistical differences between means of duties according to gender, positions, qualification and years of experience, To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher analyzed relevant literature, and developed a 70 items questionnaire ,classified according to the following domains: strategies and aims, organizational structure, human resources, technology of communication and information and obstacles hindering organizational development The sample of the study constitutes of (326) individuals. The statistical analysis of data was done using the means, normative deviation, relative importance, T. test, one – way ANOVA and Scheffe Test.
The main findings of the study are:
1-The sample of the study evaluation of the duties varied from high to average. 2- "Strategies and Aims" and Organizational Structure" got high scores. 3- Technology of Communication and Information" and "Human Resources Got Average score. 4- Regarding obstacles hindering the implementation of Organizational Development, scores varied between high and average.
The study concludes with some recommendations to sustain organizational development and also some future studies are suggested.
