A proposal for the role of principals and their assistants in the management of school accreditation in public schools in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of the United Arab Emirates experience
The study aimed to provide a proposal for the role of principals and their assistants in the Department of School Accreditation in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of the experience of the United Arab Emirates. That is by addressing the roles of principals and their assistants in the United Arab Emirates, theoretical literature, previous studies and the experience of the researcher. The researcher used the structured interview as a researching tool and the study was divided into six stages: pre-School Accreditation (configuration), the stage of self-evaluation, the stage of the initial visit, the stage of the final evaluation, the stage of post-accreditation of schools, and the evaluation and follow-up stage. The researcher interviewed the study sample which were (14) principals and assistants from the United Arab Emirates schools (Dubai Government). The study sample distributes as follow: (V) principals and assistants assessed as highly effective in the area of school leadership, (9) principals and assistants assessed as effective in the field of school leadership, ( principals and assistants assessed as not effective in the field of school leadership . In light of the study results analysis and the analysis of literature, the study reached a proposal for the role of principals and their assistants in public schools in the Sultanate of Oman in the management of school accreditation.
