This study has three aims: First, identifying the requirements of applying governance in public institutions of higher education in the Sultanate of Oman.; finding significant differences in these requirements attributed to gender, Job title, years of management experience, and Institution variables; and attempting to suggest some measures to applying governance in public institutions of higher education in the Sultanate of Oman,
In order to achieve the study's aims, the researcher used a questionnaire that was distributed to a sample of respondents from public institutions of higher education in the Sultanate of Oman, the questionnaire consisted of (50 Jitems distributes into four domains. Transparency requirements, Oversight and Accountability requirements, independence requirements, and Participation requirements. The data were gathered from the study's sample of(1500) Dean, After data Assistant , HOD , Head of Unit and Faculty in SQU ,Technical College , Applied College. analysis using the Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS), the study revealed the following results: The study sample's estimates on the requirements of applying governance in public - There were
statistically institutions of higher education in the Sultanate of Oman, were high significant differences in the study sample's estimates of the requirements in general due to the gender variable, in favor of mal. The differences in the requirements in Years of experience were due to the More than 10 years and favor of the SQU , Technical College variable. –There are no statistically significant differences in the study sample's estimates of the requirements in general, and in the four domains due to the Job title variables. The researcher proposed some suggested measures. Some related studies were also recommended.
