English abstract
The study first aimed discovering of emotional intelligence and bullying behavior of Grade (5,7,9) students. Also, it aimed at finding the relation among them, as well as identifying any of the emotional intelligence skills that can contribute to the prediction of school bullying. Finally, it aimed at identifying the difference among the emotional intelligence skills and bullying behavior according to the variables of the Gender and Grad. To achieve the aims of this study, the study employed Bullying scale and Bar on emotional Quotient Inventory (short version) on study sample of (342) male and female students, (169 males and 173 females) from 4 schools in two states in Muscat Governorate. The results of the study were :Firstly, the Interpersonal skill was common among the students of (5,7,9), also low level of bullying behavior among students. Secondly, The findings showed that there is a negative correlation between emotional intelligence and bullying behavior. Thirdly, ability to predict bullying through two skills (Stress Management and Positive Impression). Fourthly, there were statistically significant differences in emotional intelligence skills according to gender variable in Interpersonal and Positive Impression was in favor for female while Stress Management were in favor for male students. Also there were statistically significant differences in emotional intelligence skills according to grade level in Interpersonal skill for grade 7 and in Stress Management skill for grade 5, There were also statistically significant differences in Stress Management skill according to interaction between gender and grade for grade 5. Fifthly, there were statistically significant differences in Physical bullying behavior according to gender variable in favor for male students. There were statistically significant differences in Verbal bullying according to grade level for grade 9, and in Cyber bullying for grade 7&9. Also there were statistically significant differences for all forms of bullying behavior accept Psychological bullying according to interaction between gender and grade in favor for male student of grade seven in Physical, Verbal, Non verbal, Cyber bullying, while were in favor for female of grade nine in Physical, Verbal, Non verbal, Cyber bullying.
